TUSCANY 2023

As this summer slowly draws to close, and the days get shorter, we’re looking anxiously to get some great trips scheduled for you for next summer – something to look forward to during the cold winter months!

The first of two summer holidays we have planned – a weeks circular tour through this incredibly beautiful region, taking in some popular highlights, as well as hidden gems. And of course, eating our way through some splendid Tuscan cuisine!

A route largely tried & tested by us this summer, we couldn’t wait to take you there…
– Day 1 (Sat) will see us flying into Pisa, putting our bikes together, a little sightseeing with the obligatory photos – did somebody say something about a tower?!
– Day 2 will see us depart Pisa, riding into the heart of Tuscany, where the magic begins. We’ll be averaging around 100km a day, on quiet roads through the rolling hills, stopping in picturesque villages overnight.
– Midway through the week, we will stop in the hilltop village of Pitigliano for two nights – where you will have the opportunity to choose to take a rest day, a short cycle to the neighbouring village of Saturnia for a wild swim in the ancient thermal waters of Le Cascate del Mulino, or join us for an unforgettable days riding across the borders of Umbria & Lazio to a surprise destination, one we promise you won’t regret! Whichever you choose, be sure to pack your camera!
– From Pitigliano, we’ll continue and make our way back to Pisa, arriving back on the Saturday, ready to pack up, have a celebratory dinner and fly home on the Sunday.

For those preferring to fly home late afternoon/evening on Sunday, you’ll have the opportunity to fit in one last Tuscan gem, by hopping on the train for 20mins, to visit the nearby charming city of Lucca.

We have a stunning trip planned for you – we hope you’ll join us! Given the nature of the tour, it is imperative you are able to cycle 100km several days in a row, as there is little public transport in the region and thus few opportunities to hop off if you find it too much. Likewise, we will be travelling light, with just a couple of bike packing bags/panniers.

Exact route, accommodation, cost etc will be confirmed in due course, once we have indicative numbers, but we aim to keep it affordable for all. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions! Visit our Meetup page for more details.
